Changes to Caewern Post Office – Have Your Say
Possible changes to the Post Office in Caewern are in the pipeline and Neath MP Peter Hain is calling on locals to have their say. A consultation is currently under way over proposals to convert the local branch to a new local style branch, which will see Post Office services offered from the two tills on the retail counter instead of the separate open plan counters and the branch will be open for longer
The proposals are currently out to consultation which will end on 21st May 2014 with the proposed changes set to take place in June 2014 subject to the consultation.
Calling on residents to make their views known by taking part in the consultation Mr Hain said, ‘Maintaining this essential Post Office service in Caewen is crucial as it is a vital part of the community. Many people rely on it for collecting their pension, paying their bills or picking up stamps. So it is vital that residents contribute to the consultation to ensure the best outcome is achieved. Are there advantages or disadvantages to the changes? How will the changes affect accessibility and service delivery? These are all points that need to be addressed.’
